Wajood – Gender Sensitization of Men and Boys

As part of the Wajood program, we asked our field staff to put forward their views on gender sensitization of men and boys. Our counsellor in Chattarpur Crisis Mediation Center, Ms. Rekha Dubey had this to say:

“For women to succeed in society, we need the support of men. When we try to empower women, we need to change the thought process and sensitivities of men also. First we tried to deal with women and men separately, and then we bring them on the same platform, so that women and men can deal with their issues with each other. New laws and rules are coming, crimes are increasing- so in this regard, these meetings under Project Wajood help in enabling men and women to understand how they can help society in reducing crimes.”
