We invite you to chair the Round Table Conference on Creating Safe Cities: Discussion on Strategic Interventions and Innovative Response Mechanisms the 20th of December, 2016 at Juniper Hall, India Habitat Centre from 1500 – 1800 hours.
The conference proposes to help design a program for initiating action on crimes against women, in order to respond more effectively to issues of gender-based violence and to develop preventive measures to protect women from violence. This would be achieved by taking a stock of perspectives from all stakeholders (government and otherwise), so that the holistic and productive outcomes are realized, in the context of upgrading citizen safety through constructive action by the state law enforcement agencies.
It has been observed that there is a need to strengthen police policies and protocols as they are the implementing arms and the first post of the citizens for justice. The rising statistics and the exponential increase in the extent of gruesome crimes are indicative that the government and related bodies urgently need to re-evaluate the existing state response on crimes against women.
We look forward to your participation!
