The Climate Project team with support from gender experts, water experts and sponsor partner had formulated a technical training module, which was tested in the Pilot technical training held in Abu Road from September 12 to 14; 2017. In this meeting the Elected Women Representatives were given out practical training on the various methods of conserving water with special focus on rain water harvesting.

The training was carried out by technical expert from GVNML (Gram Vikas Navyuvak Mandal Laporiya). It was for the first time the EWRs received practical demonstration on the usage of water quality testing kits along with various games undertaken by Ms. Ritika and Ms.Richa to held the EWR’s build their capacity as water leaders. This meeting was also attended and appreciated by Mr. Sandeep Dubey (Program Manager; HSF).

CSR recognises the increasing impact of climate change on rural communities and the marginalisation of women from environmental management. Given the growing concern over water scarcity, Centre for Social Research with the support of Hanns Seidel Stiftung (HSS), initiated the project, Water Conservation and Climate Change Training of Trainers Program for EWR’s of Rural Rajasthan in the year 2012. We are very proud that the program has been implemented every year since then, and reached out to many elected women representatives in the state of Rajasthan.
