Girl Child Day

Trysting with Twitter

What do Shah Rukh Khan, Mallika Sherawat, Angad Bedi, Kirti Kulhari, Shoojit Sircar, Sona Mohapatra, Harish Iyer, Joshna Chinappa, PV Sindhu, Dipa Karmakar, Milind Soman, Vasundhara Raje and Maneka Gandhi have in common? Such diverse names, from the varied fields of cinema, activism, politics and sports- what could they have in common, which concerns us, here at CSR?

Well, we are happy to note, that these famous personalities have in the past few months interacted with us in some way or other, through Twitter!

Although CSR has been on Twitter for almost six years now, we have only recently begun to get really active on the platform. We have conducted a successful Tweetchat on the theme of #AllGenders, been a part of several discussions via other organizations, livetweeted our #AllGenders conference, and have been regularly updating our events, blog posts and views on current issues via Twitter. We are also proud to announce our partnership with Twitter India, titled #TweeSurfing, targeting college youth and aims to promote online safety, and counterspeech.

TweeSurfing

Twitter is a fantastic platform to reach out to a large number of people at the same time, while keeping communication short, crisp and concise. With improving features, wherein we can now share images, videos and location, and tagging users, the possibilities of Twitter in bringing about social change are endless! Connecting with influencers on this platform, allows us to increase our outreach by multifold, and ensures that updates about our field work get adequate notice.
