The Gender Resource Center of Centre for Social Research, keeps conducting certain Capacity Building Trainings for various groups. On 30th March, 2015, sixty women from 14 Self Help Groups, took part in one such Capacity Building Training organized by GRC. This training took place in SatsangBhavan, Shiv Mandir, New Usmanpur, from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm. The resource persons were Ms. Shilpi from Pidilite Industries Ltd and Ms. Jai Shree (SHG Mobilizer from GRC). The training was facilitated by Nadeem Ahmed (project coordinator) and Ms Renu (community mobilizer).
The participants were taught the following in the training:
- Art and Handicraft
- Tie & Dye designs on clothes
The training was very much appreciated by the various participants. In the words of Ms Jaishree (SHG Mobilizer) “Mobilizing savings and building capacities of the members of the Self Help Groups enable them to earn a secure livelihood along with minimum savings for future needs”.
